Building on what works
When Costa first approached BAKER about exploring the depths of their brand we dove in head first, quickly realizing that there was a vast ocean of experiences on which to build. To help ensure that both client and design team were navigating the waters toward a common destination, visual platforms were developed by combining existing Costa assets with a broader range of lifestyle materials. This process went a long way toward helping everyone involved get there sea legs underneath them for the duration of the project.

Developing the Narrative
While a number of well-liked taglines had been developed and bolted on to the brand like barnacles, there had never been a complete narrative cohesively unifying all of the individual pieces of branding communication together. We seized on the opportunity to broaden the horizon, venture into the unknown and propel the brand into a more purpose-driven future.

Exploring Uncharted Waters
Having aligned on visual platforms and brand narrative, the final part of our mission was to explore a range of conceptual packaging that would first and foremost solve certain issues currently causing store clerks headaches on shelf, and secondarily, depart from the current landscape of traditional sunglass packaging in a way that was both ownable and on brand; leaving competitors in their wake.
