So when competitors began blending into their beautiful blue hues, Tastykake charged BAKER with making their copious collection of Kandy Kakes, Krimpets and Koffee Kakes carve out a stronger section of the shelf by simplifying and amplifying their joyful exuberance all along the aisle.

From their humble beginnings as a single bakery in Philadelphia, to a true blue American icon found in homes across the country, the brand’s sweet disposition and playful personality with just a hint of nostalgia has earned it a fanatical fanbase of followers, steadfastly searching for their signature specialty snacks. With that in mind we made it our mantra across the product portfolio to – “keep it sweetly simple” – to not overthink things, but to also never let go of the joyfully indulgent spirit that makes Tastykake an exceedingly enjoyable experience. Through our use of bright colors, clever copywriting and larger-than-life product photography we were able to not only celebrate the brand’s blissful personality but also solidify its presence at shelf.
NATIONAL KRIMPET DAY – JULY 7th
In 1927, the masterful makers of Tastykake devised a thickly frosted snack cake so deliciously moist it was virtually impossible for the tantalizing treat to maintain its magnificent shape… until one of the bright young bakers had the brilliant idea to just "crimp it” that is. Now, once a year we set apart a single day to celebrate the sweet significance of Tastykake’s most iconic innovation — the Krimpet.
